Luce Fit Australia in Partnership with Sacred Heart College

Over the last 6 months we’ve had the privilege of partnering with Sacred Heart College Geelong on their PA40+ program. And what a 6 months it has been! Shout outs to Adam Hurley, Sacred Hearts Sport & Wellness Centre Manager, for coordinating the program and being so supportive in this collaboration.

As you know, LFA is on a mission to empower as many women as possible, and we have been thrilled to be able to extend our passion and values of self-love, mindfulness and kindness to help female youths in the Geelong region.
The PA40+ program was created to encourage teenage girls to remain active & broaden their understanding of exercise to help them find ways they like to move their bodies.

As part of the PA40+ program, our awesome trainers Lucy B, Leish, Maddy, Ella & Lucy S have been teaching multiple weekly exercise based classes at Sacred Heart for the year 10 students. Classes ranged from strength to HIIT based training as well as boxing, pilates & yoga.

Students also had the option to participate in open gym sessions where they learnt how to structure an exercise program. This aims to give them the confidence and knowledge to help them step into a gym outside of school grounds and after their time at Sacred Heart.

Our team did more than just support the year 10 students by facilitating group exercise classes twice a week for the Sacred Heart staff and provided online classes for the greater Sacred Heart community with a variety of styles.

Our resident Nutritionist, Leish, conducted a hands-on Nutrition Week where the students learnt the importance of fueling their bodies and creating a balanced meal. Leish ran an interactive seminar tailored to the needs of year 10 students which was followed by an Açai making class run in the food technology rooms.

In term 4, Lucy B and Leish organised Wellness Week which provided an opportunity to share LFAs values of self-love, mindfulness and kindness. The year 10 students learnt the importance of these values through practical activities and how they can implement these values in their day to day lives at and outside of school.

We have loved providing a safe, supportive and empowering environment for the Sacred Heart students, staff and community and can’t wait for another exciting year collaborating with Sacred Heart College in 2023.
