She’s the beam of sunlight that walks through our doors each morning, always ready to smash her workout! 

Katie joined the Luce Fit fam late 2019 and has accomplished so much on her health and fitness journey so far. Firstly, how would you describe yourself? Who is Katie Armstrong?

I don’t know why I find this question so difficult.  I would say Katie Armstrong is a very proud mama. I have a daughter, Phoenix who is almost 3 & I can’t wait to have more. I am married to Josh who I also own a café with. We have a German Shepherd – Max, a rabbit – Alfie & a cockatiel – Gomez. I am a coffee & shopping addict. I’m a mostly reformed emo kid that has a ridiculous obsession & love for Taylor Swift. 

And I am a rookie feminist & very passionate about supporting and embracing female empowerment. 

What do you do for work?

I am a barista – café owner. 

What do you love most about being the owner of Blank Space? 

HAVING REALLY GOOD COFFEE EVERYDAY! Also, I love doing what I love – making coffee & talking to people 

What made you decide to join Luce Fit?

I wanted to do something that was for me & to be proud of my body. I also want to be healthy and a positive influence for Phoenix. 

I had no idea where to start or how to get back into exercise, I hadn’t been to a gym for 5 or more years. One of my friends – Jess, was going so I went to a class with her and that was it. Love at first class. I like that I have zero anxiety when going to a class, that I can go on my own or with a friend & that it embraces and empowers women. 

What is your favourite class?

I think I would have to say Boss Babes but I have been enjoying (but also dying in) Fearless Fridays. 

What do your health and fitness goals involve?

When I first started it was to lose weight, lose my “mum tum” & to tone up all the wibbles & wobbles. I think now I am less focused on losing weight but I just want to feel strong & be confident in my body. I also want to be as healthy and fit as I can be for when we get around to having baby number 2. 

What have you learnt on your healthy lifestyle journey so far?

To not focus on the number on the scales and to trust in how my body is feeling.

What is your favourite wholesome meal to tuck into?

Anything with avocado & greens. I also love Josh’s coconut rice porridge that’s on the menu at Blank Space.

If you could ghost one particular exercise what would it be?

BURPEES!!!!

Lastly, what are you bingeing on Netflix at the moment? 

When the TV is on it’s usually Phoenix’s shows,  it’s hard to get into a new series as I don’t have that much time to watch shows. That might change over the next 5 weeks.  I have been re-watching Suits & also Greys Anatomy on Stan.
